Resident Physician

About the role

The Resident Physician position at Raffles Hospital offers a dynamic environment where you will manage acute medical, surgical and traumatic cases. You will work alongside senior specialists, providing critical care and contributing to the hospital’s 24‑hour emergency services.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and treat patients presenting with acute medical, surgical and trauma conditions.
• Perform initial stabilisation and resuscitation of critically ill or injured patients, escalating to specialists as needed.
• Order, interpret and act on investigations such as blood tests, imaging studies and ECGs.
• Carry out emergency and minor procedures including wound management, suturing, splinting, IV access and advanced airway support.
• Communicate diagnoses, investigation results, treatment plans and discharge instructions clearly to patients and families.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation, including medical records, referrals and discharge summaries.
• Support 24‑hour departmental coverage and provide medical assistance to hospital wards and other areas as required.

Required profile

• Basic medical degree recognised by the Singapore Medical Council.
• Minimum PGY3 Medical Officer experience, preferably in Emergency Departments, anaesthesia or ICU.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends and public holidays.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
