Resident Physician, Palliative Care

About the role

We are seeking a Resident Physician specialized in Palliative Care to join our multi‑disciplinary hospice team. The role involves delivering comprehensive medical care to residents, coordinating with nurses and other professionals, and ensuring patient‑centred care plans are followed.

Key responsibilities

• Work with a multi‑disciplinary team to develop, review, and ensure relevance of resident care plans.
• Respond promptly to changes in resident function or condition.
• Inform residents about health status and support self‑determination, including advance directives.
• Conduct rounds with the staff nurse to verify implementation of care plans.
• Perform regular resident check‑ups, diagnose ailments, prescribe medication, and refer to specialists as needed.
• Formulate an enhanced care philosophy for nursing staff.

Required profile

• Basic medical degree recognised by the Singapore Medical Council.
• Full registration with the Singapore Medical Council.
• Relevant experience with elderly patients or a Graduate Diploma in Geriatric Medicine, Family Medicine, or related discipline (advantageous).
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
