Resident Technical Officer

About the role

Bureau Veritas is looking for a Resident Technical Officer to support and assist the SRE/RE/RA on construction projects, ensuring compliance with regulations and maintaining quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Support and assist the SRE/RE/RA on assigned projects.
• Review project drawings and specifications, raising discrepancies before construction begins and throughout the project.
• Supervise construction works, maintain quality control and ensure compliance with specifications, drawings, method statements and site instructions.
• Ensure contractors comply with the Building Control Act, relevant codes, and requirements of authorities such as BCA, LTA, NEA, NParks, PUB, SCDF and utility providers.
• Report non‑conforming work to supervising Qualified Persons, the project manager and consultants.
• Liaise with engineers, architects and specialists on design revisions and approvals.
• Assist in reviewing contractor method statements and monitor schedules, progress and day works.
• Verify progress payment claims and check shop and construction drawings for discrepancies.
• Prepare and submit daily progress reports.

Required profile

• Diploma, Bachelor’s or higher degree in a relevant field.
• Registered Resident Technical Officer (RTO) with BCA/IES/ACES.
• Certificate in Building Construction Supervisors Safety (BCSS) Course.
• Relevant working experience in construction supervision.
