Restaurant Captain – Guest Service Lead

About the role

The Captain leads the front‑of‑house team at York Hotel, ensuring every guest receives courteous and efficient service. This on‑site role combines guest interaction, order management and supervision of food presentation to maintain high satisfaction standards.

Key responsibilities

• Greet and serve guests with professionalism, taking and delivering orders accurately.
• Recommend menu items, explain product details and handle special requests.
• Supervise food presentation and coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service.
• Monitor guest feedback and address concerns promptly.
• Prepare and maintain mise‑en‑place for each station.
• Oversee point‑of‑sale (POS) transactions and cashier duties.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of experience in a similar hospitality or food‑and‑beverage role.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Operational knowledge of POS systems.
