Risk Operations Analyst II – Japanese Speaker

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Analyst II to join our Risk Operations team in Japan. You will support merchants and business partners with dispute handling, onboarding, and compliance while ensuring adherence to local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the front‑line for dispute queries in Japan, handling Mastercard and JCB disputes and escalating when needed.
• Manage the end‑to‑end dispute resolution process, including completion of dispute forms, questionnaires, and retrieval requests.
• Provide first‑line support via email, phone and chat for merchants, issuers and scheme networks.
• Coordinate information flow between merchants and issuing banks within scheme‑defined timeframes.
• Support APAC underwriting by gathering merchant information, running screenings, and completing 3DS and scheme registration forms.
• Assist the CDD team with AML periodic reviews and document updates for Japanese merchants.
• Conduct periodic anti‑social‑force screenings and support risk monitoring and METI reporting.
• Serve as interpreter/translator (Japanese ↔ English) for dispute and compliance communications.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 2‑3 years of credit‑card or payments operations experience.
• Fluency in English and Japanese (written and spoken) is mandatory.
• Strong customer‑centric attitude and proven analytical/problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a track record of building relationships.
• Highly autonomous, able to prioritize, multitask and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
