SAP Application Operation Lead

About the role

The SAP Application Operation Lead will oversee daily SAP operations and drive project implementations across technical, development, and functional teams. This position ensures system stability, continuous improvement, and alignment with business objectives while adhering to IT standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate SAP technical, development, and functional teams, conducting meetings and performance reviews.
• Monitor SAP system performance (ECC, S/4HANA, BW) and manage incident, problem, and change processes to meet SLA targets.
• Plan and execute SAP upgrades, rollouts, and new implementations in partnership with PMO, business stakeholders, and vendors.
• Oversee SAP Basis, security, backups, patching, and performance tuning, ensuring compliance with IT policies and audits.
• Prioritize change requests, manage custom development, and collaborate with ABAP and integration teams.
• Coordinate functional leads across modules (FI/CO, MM, SD, PP, HCM) to align configuration with business processes.
• Serve as the single point of contact for SAP operations, providing status updates and escalating critical issues.
• Promote governance, compliance (SOX, GDPR) and SAP best practices, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or related field.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in SAP environments, including operations, support, and project delivery.
• Proven leadership of cross‑functional SAP teams.
• Strong understanding of SAP architecture, security, and IT service management processes.
