SAP Basis Administrator

About the role

NCS Group is looking for an SAP Basis Administrator with about 2 years of hands-on experience to support and maintain its SAP landscape. The role provides day-to-day technical administration and operational support for SAP ECC, BW, Enterprise Portal (EP), GRC and Solution Manager, working across SAP HANA, Microsoft SQL Server and SAP ASE databases on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server and Microsoft Windows Server.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and monitor SAP ECC, BW, EP, GRC and Solution Manager, including availability, logs, dumps, locks and background jobs
• Manage users, roles and authorizations, perform housekeeping and system health checks, and assist with kernel upgrades, support packages, patches and SAP Notes
• Support system refreshes, client administration, system copies and transport management across development, test and production
• Monitor and troubleshoot RFC connections, IDocs and interfaces
• Support basic administration of SAP HANA, MSSQL and SAP ASE, including backups, recovery, capacity monitoring and patching
• Provide basic OS support for SLES and Windows Server, including services, filesystem housekeeping and log management
• Use SAP Solution Manager for monitoring, alerts, incident investigation and health reporting
• Handle incidents and service requests within SLAs, take part in planned maintenance and follow ITIL processes

Required profile

• About 2 years of experience in SAP Basis administration or support
• Hands-on exposure to SAP Basis in an enterprise environment
• Ability to work with application, database, infrastructure and security teams
• Good communication, documentation and troubleshooting skills
• Willingness to work in a production support environment with SLA-driven priorities

Required skills

• SAP transport management, background jobs, RFCs and system monitoring
• Basic SAP HANA administration and monitoring
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, SAP ASE and SUSE Linux administration
• Basic knowledge of Windows Server administration
• Knowledge of SAP users, roles, authorizations and security concepts
• Relevant SAP Basis certification or training is an advantage
