SCADA System Engineer – Automation & IBMS

About the role

The SCADA System Engineer will lead the architecture, design and standardisation of enterprise SCADA and IBMS platforms for a leading automation provider in Singapore. You will work closely with engineering, sales and business development teams to deliver reliable, scalable automation solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement architecture, design standards and deployment guidelines for SCADA and IBMS software.
• Specify server sizing, virtual machine architecture, memory and storage requirements based on project scale.
• Create standardised SCADA graphics, HMI templates, navigation structures, alarm philosophies and user‑access frameworks.
• Establish engineering procedures for development, configuration, integration and commissioning of SCADA systems.
• Conduct technical reviews, mentor engineering teams and ensure compliance with best practices.
• Troubleshoot complex software, database, communication and integration issues across multiple projects.
• Support design, testing, commissioning and post‑handover activities for project teams.
• Produce technical documentation, QA/QC checklists and troubleshooting guides.
• Collaborate with sales and business development to craft technical proposals and innovative automation solutions.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements for performance and scalability.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Automation, Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5‑6 years of experience with SCADA, IBMS, BMS or industrial automation systems.
• Proven experience in SCADA software architecture, system integration, configuration and troubleshooting.
