Science Laboratory Technician – Primary School (Full-Time)

About the role

The school is seeking a proactive Science Laboratory Technician to support the Science Department of Woodgrove Primary School. The role combines hands‑on laboratory assistance with the upkeep of outdoor green‑learning spaces, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for primary pupils.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, set up and clean laboratory materials and apparatus for daily science experiments, and perform routine maintenance and simple repairs on equipment.
• Maintain the school’s horticultural areas, including plant propagation, weeding, pruning, fruit protection and operation of smart‑farming systems such as Vegepods and irrigation timers.
• Handle departmental administration tasks such as inventory control, stock checks, procurement support, invoice verification and basic financial logging.

Required profile

• Minimum GCE ‘O’ Level qualification; science studies at secondary or tertiary level are advantageous.
• At least two years of hands‑on experience working in a primary school science laboratory.

Required skills

• Laboratory equipment maintenance and safety compliance procedures.
• Plant cultivation and horticultural maintenance.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint for asset tracking and financial logs.
