Securities Reference Data Control Specialist

About the role

The Data Governance Team (DGT) within Global Financial Market Operations (GFMO) maintains the accuracy, integrity and accessibility of critical bond and issuer static data. It is looking for a highly motivated Securities Reference Data Control Specialist to join its Operation Data Governance Team and drive operational excellence through technology enhancements and robust data governance.

Key responsibilities

• Support the setup and maintenance of bond and issuer label configuration across core Treasury systems such as SDWT, Murex, Front Arena and CORE.
• Ensure timely creation and maintenance of static data requests within defined service level agreements.
• Maintain accurate bond attributes (coupon, maturity, day count, settlement conventions, corporate actions) by bridging data between Bloomberg and custodian sources.
• Carry out root cause analysis on risk items and identify data integrity improvement opportunities.
• Liaise with Treasury dealers, Relationship Managers, Finance and other processing teams to resolve bond-related data issues.
• Identify opportunities to improve straight-through processing and operational efficiency, and take part in data transformation initiatives.
• Document new and amended processes in line with Group standards.
• Manage user acceptance testing for static data requirements and uphold data accuracy under strict internal controls and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• Proven experience in bond settlement, securities reference data control or a similar role in a financial institution.
• Strong understanding of financial markets and instruments.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently and in a team.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Bloomberg Terminal and custodian systems is beneficial.
• Expert proficiency in Murex (AXE, MLC, UBIX, FinIQ, ILMS) is highly desirable.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365.
