Segment Producer – CNBC International

About the role

The Segment Producer will collaborate with executive producers, senior and junior producers, and CNBC Operations to build and deliver live news TV programmes for CNBC International. The role requires strong editorial knowledge of business and financial markets and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced newsroom environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and produce live and taped guest segments.
• Generate original content ideas daily from a broad range of sources.
• Identify, book, and coordinate compelling guests.
• Conduct pre‑interviews and arrange interview hits.
• Write copy and teases that capture audience interest.
• Secure supporting elements such as sound bites and video.
• Assist in visualising, creating, and producing on‑air segments.
• Introduce new creative ideas, segments, and franchise concepts.
• Maintain strong relationships with news sources.
• Support Line Producers in overall show production.

Required profile

• Exemplary editorial judgment and a solid understanding of financial markets.
• Self‑starter with superior industry contacts who can work creatively under daily deadline pressure.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong sense of visual storytelling.
• Willingness to accommodate a demanding production schedule, including weekends and some holidays.
• Three or more years of experience booking and producing segments in a live television environment.
