Senior Accountant - Accounting, Audit & Tax Services

About the role

A Singapore-based accounting firm, which supports Japanese companies expanding into Asia, is hiring a Senior Accountant in Central, Singapore. The role covers financial accounting, reporting, tax filings and liaison with external auditors, working full-time, permanent, Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee accurate bookkeeping and full sets of accounts for multiple clients, including GL, AR, AP, fixed assets and accounting schedules
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports (balance sheet, P&L, cash flow) under SFRS, and prepare consolidated accounts
• Prepare and review corporate income tax, GST and withholding tax filings, ensuring timely submission in line with IRAS regulations
• Advise clients on GST, withholding tax and corporate tax implications, and act as main liaison with external auditors
• Review year-end financial statements and serve as main point of contact for assigned clients
• Ensure compliance with IRAS, ACRA and SFRS, keep up with accounting and tax changes and train the team and clients
• Supervise and review junior team members, streamline accounting processes and handle ad-hoc projects

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or a related field; CA, ISCA, ACCA or CPA is a plus
• Minimum 4 to 5 years of accounting experience, including at least 1 year in outsourced accounting, tax management or an audit firm
• Experience preparing consolidated accounts is an advantage
• Strong understanding of SFRS and IRAS regulations (GST, corporate income tax, withholding tax)

Required skills

• Accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks or SAP B1
• Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
• Analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and in a team
