Senior Application Architect

About the role

The Senior Application Architect will design, govern and deliver scalable, secure, and business‑aligned technology solutions for BCS’s critical payment applications. This role provides architectural leadership from strategy through production support, ensuring high availability and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Act as trusted technology advisor, shaping architecture strategy, planning and solution design for critical business operations.
• Design and govern robust, scalable, secure, and resilient application architectures, including layered, SOA, event‑driven, DDD and micro‑services models.
• Build proof‑of‑concepts, prototype solutions and provide hands‑on coding support when needed.
• Conduct architecture reviews, performance assessments, capacity modelling and resilience evaluations.
• Review technical designs and code to maintain architecture integrity across projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience designing and building enterprise applications.
• Proven experience managing critical applications in on‑premise and AWS cloud environments.
• AWS Solution Architect Associate and Developer Associate certifications are mandatory.
