Senior Associate, Assistant Portfolio Manager - Discretionary Portfolio Management

About the role

DBS is hiring a Senior Associate, Assistant Portfolio Manager within its Discretionary Portfolio Management (DPM) unit of the Private Banking, Consumer Banking Group. The role supports DPM Portfolio Managers in implementing strategies across their portfolios, handles account opening and maintenance, and provides secretarial and administrative support. It is a regular, full-time position based in DBS Asia Central.

Key responsibilities

• Trade-related activities: plan and place trades across several asset classes for all DPM clients accurately and on time, and perform trade allocation and FX transactions so trades settle properly
• Account opening, maintenance and closing: set up accounts correctly, update investment and operating parameters after client instructions, and handle account closure including liquidation, transfer and outstanding fees
• Handle internal queries by liaising with Assistant Relationship Managers and the Operations team on account opening and closure requests and other information requests
• Provide secretarial and administrative support: maintain spreadsheets tracking portfolio activity (asset allocation, tactical asset allocation checks, currency exposure, concentration risk, client restrictions, trades and performance vs. long-term objectives), maintain client records and follow up on outstanding documentation
• Prepare account performance reviews, take minutes at investment meetings and follow up on regulatory reporting daily

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree with at least 1-2 years of experience
• CFA Level 1 certification
• Basic banking and operational knowledge
• Knowledge of risk management, credit, operations, finance, compliance and controls
• Good understanding of financial and investment markets
• Team player with good communication and interpersonal skills, analytical thinking and problem-solving ability

• Excel macros are a plus
