Senior Associate / Associate (International Tax)

About the role

IRAS is recruiting a Senior Associate / Associate (International Tax) to serve as an International Tax Officer within the Ministry of Finance's Tax Policy Directorate. The officer advances Singapore's interests internationally by formulating and implementing international tax policies, including strengthening the network of double taxation agreements and expanding the economic space for businesses based in Singapore. Successful hires are posted to MOF for 3 years before returning to IRAS, with training and milestone programmes provided during the secondment.

Key responsibilities

• Formulate and implement international tax policies, including improving Singapore's Avoidance of Double Taxation Agreements (DTA) network
• Engage foreign tax jurisdictions and government officials at international meetings, possibly representing Singapore
• Take part in developing Singapore's strategy and communications plan in response to key international tax developments with medium- to long-term impact

Required profile

• Background in Economics, Business or Accountancy, with tax or international work experience, is an advantage
• Keen interest in and passion for public policy work
• Strong analytical ability and excellent communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills to engage internal and external stakeholders
