Senior Clinical Psychologist

About the role

NHG is hiring a Senior Clinical Psychologist to deliver comprehensive psychological services in a multidisciplinary healthcare setting. The role covers individual and group psychotherapy, psychometric assessments and specialised interventions for patients with moderate to complex presentations, with clinical leadership, supervision and contribution to service development.

Key responsibilities

• Provide individual and/or group psychotherapy (e.g. cognitive-behavioural therapy, stress management, mindfulness) for inpatients and outpatients with moderate to complex cases
• Conduct psychometric assessments (IQ, neuropsychological, dementia) with advanced interpretation and clinical recommendations
• Handle routine medico-legal and forensic cases with proper documentation and expert opinion
• Maintain high standards of care and take part in clinical and quality improvement activities
• Support the peer support programme, give talks and workshops on stress management and mental health
• Supervise and mentor junior psychologists, train JG12 and below and AHP students, and plan department education activities
• Evaluate and translate research into practice, help design research projects and present findings locally
• Manage services and resources, co-lead inter-professional workgroups and engage stakeholders in decisions

Required profile

• Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from a recognised institution
• At least 3-4 years of clinical psychology experience in a healthcare setting
• Valid registration, licence or practicing certificate with an established body such as APA, APS or BPS preferred
• Commitment to continuing professional development
