Senior Cook

About the role

The company is seeking an experienced Senior Cook to lead kitchen operations on a contract basis. You will be responsible for preparing a wide range of dishes while ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and restaurant standards.
• Oversee daily kitchen operations and coordinate food preparation activities.
• Supervise and guide junior kitchen staff in food preparation and cooking procedures.
• Monitor food quality, portion control, and presentation standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of kitchen equipment, workstations, and food preparation areas.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering kitchen supplies and ingredients.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, hygiene standards, and workplace safety requirements.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in food preparation and cooking within a restaurant environment.
• Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen sanitation practices.
• Ability to prepare a variety of dishes while maintaining quality and consistency.
• Experience supervising or guiding kitchen staff is an advantage.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment and manage time effectively.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays when required.
