Senior Corporate Banking Relationship Manager (China Desk)

About the role

A prominent banking group, founded in the 1960s and offering retail, corporate, Islamic, investment and digital banking, is recruiting through Hays for a Senior Corporate Banking Relationship Manager (China Desk) in Singapore. The role is a revenue generator covering wholesale banking clients and delivering the local budget, focusing on companies from the Greater China region involved in trade and/or foreign direct investment in five core markets. Clients are approached at their headquarters and group treasury centres in Hong Kong and Singapore.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full client relationship, from prospecting and onboarding (including KYC and financial crime risk) to credit analysis and risk management.
• Build multi-product and multi-country relationships and ensure effective client servicing.
• Understand the branch strategy and develop relationships aligned to it.
• Deliver the local budget and act as a revenue generator for the desk.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree from a reputable university.
• 15+ years of corporate banking experience with knowledge of trade finance, treasury, DCM and similar areas.
• Experience covering Greater China.
• Ability to speak business Mandarin with internal and external Chinese clients.
• Credit skills and a marketing track record; ESG experience.
