Senior Data Analyst – PowerBI

About the role

Gentco Logistics is seeking a Senior Data Analyst with deep expertise in PowerBI to join its Global IT Department. The role will support data‑driven decision‑making across operations, finance and commercial functions for a leading international liquid chemical logistics provider.

Key responsibilities

• Use SQL and Python, applying statistical techniques to analyse historical data, uncover trends and detect anomalies.
• Design, develop and maintain PowerBI dashboards, semantic models and KPI definitions for global business needs.
• Serve as the primary point‑of‑contact for PowerBI requests from senior stakeholders, translating business questions into scoped data work.
• Own and continuously improve SQL data models and transformations built on Azure Databricks data marts.
• Identify opportunities for dashboard consolidation, self‑service analytics and enhanced user experience across ~10 workspaces, ~30 semantic models and ~100 dashboards.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation and promote knowledge sharing across the analytics team.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional experience in data or business intelligence roles.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, PowerBI and Python.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Professional fluency in English; Mandarin fluency is a plus.
• Proactive attitude with ownership of projects and accountability for outcomes.
