Senior Designated Support Engineer

About the role

DDN is seeking a senior technical expert to own and support the most strategic global customers for its high‑performance storage solutions. This named‑account position focuses on large‑scale Lustre parallel file system environments and requires end‑to‑end ownership of complex deployments across the APAC region.

Key responsibilities

• Provide advanced technical support for DDN storage solutions and related technologies in APAC customer environments.
• Act as the senior escalation point for complex issues and high‑priority incidents, coordinating with engineering teams worldwide.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems in Lustre parallel file systems and large‑scale storage infrastructures.
• Develop and execute test plans for system upgrades, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities.
• Collaborate with engineering to feed customer feedback into product improvements and create technical documentation.
• Mentor junior support engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing across the global support organization.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in technical support, systems engineering, or infrastructure engineering.
• Strong background supporting Linux‑based storage or high‑performance computing environments.
• Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex system and infrastructure issues.
• Excellent communication skills and experience working in a distributed global technical team.

Required skills

• Lustre parallel file system administration and support.
• Linux operating systems and system administration.
• Storage technologies such as RAID, erasure coding, and distributed storage architectures.
• Networking fundamentals including Ethernet, TCP/IP, routing, and network troubleshooting.
• High‑speed networking (InfiniBand, high‑speed Ethernet).
• NAS protocols: NFS, CIFS/SMB, S3, FTP, SFTP.
• Authentication systems: Active Directory, LDAP.
• Scripting languages: Shell, Python, Perl.
