Senior Engineer, Water & Waste Construction

About the role

Micron is hiring a Senior Engineer for its Global Facilities Central Engineering, Construction team, based at Fab 10A. The role provides water and waste construction engineering support for semiconductor facility projects across the U.S. and Asia, covering the full project lifecycle from design through commissioning and handover. It aims to deliver projects safely, on time, within budget and to required quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead water and waste construction engineering across the project lifecycle (design, construction, commissioning and handover).
• Drive delivery of large-scale fab projects in line with scope, schedule, cost and quality requirements.
• Review and validate water, wastewater and environmental system designs for compliance with standards, codes and project requirements.
• Provide technical support to resolve construction, installation and design issues, and monitor construction progress.
• Support development of project cost estimates, schedules and business justifications.
• Coordinate consultants and contractors for effective project execution.
• Work with facilities, procurement, manufacturing, operations and IT teams, and communicate updates, risks and decisions to stakeholders and leadership.
• Proactively identify and mitigate project risks, support root cause analysis and continuous improvement, and contribute to Best Known Methods (BKMs).
• Support sustainability programs such as water conservation, waste reduction and environmental compliance, and capacity planning and infrastructure optimization.
• Use AI-assisted tools to improve engineering analysis and project execution, and share AI-enabled best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental or Construction Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 8 years of relevant engineering experience, including at least 5 years supporting construction projects as a Water or Waste Engineer.
• Experience designing water and wastewater systems (treatment, distribution, waste handling) and working in EPCM project environments.
• Expertise in construction project execution and project controls (cost, schedule, risk management).
• Experience reviewing engineering designs and validating regulatory compliance.
