Senior Executive - Financial Reporting (Investment)

About the role

This Senior Executive position sits within the finance team and oversees investment operations while driving continuous improvement in financial systems and processes. It combines investment management with strategic system enhancement, working closely with internal teams and external agencies to deliver efficient and effective student financial services.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the organisation's investment portfolio, including recommendations and execution, accounting, performance monitoring, reporting and audit matters
• Review and update investment policies so they align with strategy, spending needs, governance and risk appetite
• Provide secretarial and administrative support to the Finance and Investment Committee
• Prepare returns for government agencies on time and accurately
• Use data analytics to inform process and policy reviews
• Streamline finance policies and processes, using technology and automation
• Support finance transformation initiatives and ad hoc projects

Required profile

• Credentials in Accountancy or Finance
• Preferred: experience in investment management and financial analysis
• Understanding of finance processes and controls, with an eye on streamlining and automation
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively; good verbal and written communication

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of Microsoft data analytics tools to automate Excel workflows, analyse data and build interactive dashboards
