Senior Executive, Product and Sales Compliance

About the role

Product and Sales Compliance is a key function for Manulife Singapore, responsible for meeting regulatory requirements by responding to, liaising with and coordinating with regulators and internal colleagues on regulatory issues. The role reports to the Head of Product and Sales Compliance and contributes to the Company and Distribution's strategic and annual business plans in a compliant way.

Key responsibilities

• Provide compliance advisory support to business stakeholders for day-to-day operations and new business initiatives.
• Review product due diligence and related materials such as product highlight sheets, policy illustrations, product summaries and cover pages.
• Manage new and amended regulations and advise business units on meeting regulatory requirements.
• Investigate non-consumer feedback and whistleblowing cases.
• Support the Head of Product and Sales Compliance in regulatory liaison, including coordinating responses to regulatory queries and information requests.
• Prepare compliance reports and training materials, and maintain compliance policies and procedures for annual or regular review.
• Contribute to strategic initiatives and special projects, and take on additional tasks as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in audit, finance or business or higher, with at least 10 years of compliance experience in the financial industry, preferably in life insurance or banking.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and strong ethical standards.

Required skills

• Excellent working knowledge of the Insurance Act, Financial Advisers Act, other relevant MAS regulations and LIA MU / MC.
• Strong understanding of the life insurance and financial advisory environment.
• Good written and oral communication, able to explain compliance issues clearly to non-technical audiences.
• Analytical, problem-solving and strategic thinking skills; meticulous and detail-oriented.
