Senior Firmware Engineer

About the role

Flexxon, a global pioneer in hardware-level security innovations behind its X-PHY cybersecurity solution, is looking for a Firmware Engineer to join its R&D team in Singapore. You will develop low-level embedded software, Embedded Linux board support packages (BSP) and application-level software for custom hardware platforms. Strong C/C++ skills, Python and Shell scripting, and practical Embedded Linux experience are required.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, debug and maintain low-level firmware and system software in C and C++
• Customize Embedded Linux BSPs, device drivers, U-Boot bootloaders and kernel configurations
• Implement user-space applications and SDKs on customized Embedded Linux boards
• Write test automation scripts, build utilities and workflow tools in Python and Shell
• Take part in initial board bring-up and debug hardware-software interactions
• Collaborate on hardware/software co-design for SoC/FPGA platforms, including custom IP cores, PetaLinux and acceleration frameworks
• Participate in peer code reviews and maintain technical documentation

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field
• Hands-on experience in low-level firmware and software development in C and C++
• Experience with Embedded Linux, BSP customization, device drivers and device trees using Yocto or Buildroot
• Proven track record building user-space applications and SDKs for Embedded Linux targets
• Good understanding of SoC architectures, board bring-up and interfaces such as SPI, I2C, UART, PCIe and Ethernet
