Senior Frontend Engineer, Billing

About the role

Airwallex, the AI-native financial operating system used by more than 675,000 businesses, is hiring a Senior Frontend Engineer for its Billing team in Singapore. The Billing team owns the quote-to-cash engine that charges for everything, from usage-based billing to the checkout experience across 130+ currencies and 160+ payment methods. The engineer will build the next-generation billing platform that supports Airwallex internally and helps customers manage billing and revenue workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Build high-quality products with React and TypeScript, using modern frontend engineering practices.
• Design and develop micro-frontend web applications with domain-based architecture and a single-SPA framework.
• Build scalable, high-performance Node.js backend-for-frontend services with Apollo GraphQL and well-defined contracts.
• Partner with Design on a shared design system and reusable components, and deliver NPM packages, library widgets and open-source projects.
• Deploy micro-frontends and Node.js services using GCP, Alibaba Cloud Kubernetes, Cloudflare, GitLab CI/CD and a bucket CDN.
• Write unit and end-to-end tests with React Testing Library, test-rendering tools and Cypress.
• Develop no-code, serverless CMS capabilities for corporate sites and landing pages with Contentful and Next.js.
• Engage with the frontend guild, research emerging technologies and help reduce technical debt.

Required profile

• 5+ years of frontend development experience, including 2+ years of frontend architecture experience.
• Experience developing large-scale financial web systems.
• Bachelor's degree or above in computer science or a related field.
• Comfortable owning the roadmap, making decisions with incomplete information and working five days a week in the Singapore office.

Required skills

• HTML5, CSS3, ECMAScript 6+ and TypeScript.
• React, Vue, Angular and their stacks; Emotion, styled-components and SCSS.
• RESTful APIs, Webpack, polyfills and Rollup.js.
• Node.js backend-for-frontend services.
• Preferred: GraphQL, Next.js, Redis, relational databases, GA/GTM, BDD/TDD, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, Nginx, Java/Kotlin or Shell.
