Senior Geomatics Engineer / Principal Geomatics Engineer, Geodesy

About the role

This role sits in the Geodesy team, which strengthens Singapore's national geodetic capability and infrastructure and supports the geospatial sector through national geodetic initiatives such as datum modernisation, land-sea integration, land motion monitoring, Whole-of-Government geodetic coordination and stakeholder engagement, as well as geodetic applications for climate change adaptation. The position covers technical operations, data management and analysis, and applied research.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, process, analyse and interpret high-quality geospatial and geodetic data, and develop data products and visualisations
• Support the design, development, operation and maintenance of national geodetic infrastructure, systems and technical workflows
• Carry out technical studies and applied research to strengthen internal capabilities and national geodetic services
• Support Whole-of-Government geodetic initiatives, including coordination with government agencies, research institutions and other stakeholders

Required profile

• Degree in Geodesy, Geomatics Engineering, Remote Sensing, Geospatial Science, GIS or an equivalent recognised qualification
• Good understanding of geodetic principles, coordinate reference systems, map projections, data management and spatial data processing
• Experience with GIS and geospatial data analysis
• 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred; fresh graduates with a strong technical foundation are also welcome
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, good written and verbal communication, and ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team

• Advantageous: reference frames and datum development, GNSS, gravity and geoid modelling, land motion monitoring, geodetic adjustment, terrestrial surveying/instrumentation, remote sensing
• Advantageous: Python and MATLAB, geospatial data processing and visualisation tools
