Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Pre-Sales) - Server, Storage & Backup Solutions

About the role

NCS, a technology services firm operating across the Asia Pacific region, is hiring a Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Pre-Sales) in Singapore. The role provides expert technical pre-sales support for server, storage, backup and cloud solutions, engaging early with customers and preparing complete, cost-effective proposals.

Key responsibilities

• Gather customer requirements and prepare solution write-ups, bills of materials, Statements of Compliance and engage the Service Delivery team.
• Ensure technical terms and conditions are complete, and lead technical presentations and clarifications.
• Identify technical and execution risks and propose mitigation measures.
• Integrate server, storage, backup and cloud solutions with other pre-sales consultants, and hand over the solution design to the implementation team after contract award.
• Stay current with product technology and certifications, build technical capability slides, share knowledge internally and obtain product certifications to maintain premium partnerships.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of systems, storage and cloud experience with vendors such as Pure Storage, HPE, IBM, Dell, Hitachi Vantara, NetApp, Cisco UCS, AWS, Azure and Google Cloud Platform.
• Hands-on experience with OS such as Windows, Red Hat Linux, Ubuntu, Solaris and virtualisation platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, KVM, Nutanix AHV, AIX LPAR, Solaris LDOM and containers.
• Knowledge of backup and archival solutions such as Cohesity DataProtect, Veritas NetBackup, Veeam, Rubrik, Commvault, Dell PowerProtect/Data Domain, Acronis and Arcserve.
• Good knowledge of virtualisation, containers and IaaS cloud technologies.
• Customer service oriented, good team player, able to work independently and in teams.

Preferred: product and technology certifications such as MCSE/MCITP and vendor-specific server, storage and backup certifications.
