Senior IT Security Analyst – Incident Response Lead

About the role

The National Institute of Education (NIE) seeks a Senior IT Security Analyst to lead incident response and strengthen security operations across its hybrid IT environment. You will work closely with internal teams, external vendors, and stakeholders to protect the institute’s information assets.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the full incident‑response lifecycle, lead investigations, and develop playbooks.
• Design and implement advanced threat detection using SIEM, EDR and other security tools.
• Conduct threat hunting, proactive assessments, and post‑incident reviews.
• Analyse threat statistics, create visual reports and present findings to management.
• Evaluate new security technologies and drive continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Support and coordinate cybersecurity projects, track deliverables and maintain documentation.

Required profile

• University degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Cybersecurity or a related field.
• Professional certifications in incident handling or security analysis preferred (e.g., GCIH).
• Minimum 4 years of progressive experience in IT security, with a focus on incident response.
