Senior Java Lead

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Java Lead to drive the design, development and delivery of large‑scale distributed systems built on micro‑service architecture. The role will combine hands‑on coding with technical leadership, ensuring high performance, scalability and security across our platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement micro‑service solutions using Java, Spring Boot and related frameworks.
• Define best practices, standards and implementation patterns for micro‑service development.
• Collaborate with technical SMEs to translate functional requirements into robust designs.
• Lead the creation of accelerators, tools and deployment pipelines for Kubernetes‑based services.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend architectural improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in architecture development, backend integration and large‑scale Java applications.

Required skills

• Java/J2EE, Java 8+, Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud.
• Micro‑service design, RESTful APIs, SOAP services, Swagger specifications.
• Testing frameworks: JUnit, Cucumber.
• Messaging technologies: MQ, JMS, Kafka, event‑driven patterns.
• Container orchestration with Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines.
• API management using API gateways.
• Security standards: OAuth, PCI compliance.
• Database experience with MSSQL, data modelling and query optimisation.
• Business rule engines such as Drools, JBoss, JRules.
• Experience with TIBCO BusinessWorks and EMS messaging.
