Senior Legal Counsel, Data Center

About the role

Bitdeer is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to support the development, construction, and operation of its data centre portfolio across Singapore, Malaysia and the broader Southeast Asia region. The role combines commercial contract work with regulatory guidance throughout the data centre lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including procurement, EPC, construction, lease, services, colocation and interconnection contracts.
• Lead negotiations with vendors, contractors, landlords, customers and service providers, balancing commercial goals with legal and regulatory risk.
• Provide practical legal advice to project, construction, procurement and operations teams on contractual and compliance matters.
• Develop and maintain contract templates, playbooks and standard negotiating positions to improve consistency and speed.
• Conduct legal research, monitor regulatory developments in Singapore and Malaysia, and manage external counsel as needed.

Required profile

• Law degree (LL.B., J.D. or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
• 8+ years post‑qualification experience, ideally split between a leading law firm and an in‑house corporate legal department.
• Demonstrated ability to independently draft, review and negotiate complex commercial agreements.
• Familiarity with Singapore and/or Malaysia legal and regulatory frameworks; admission to the Singapore or Malaysia Bar preferred.
• Hands‑on experience with data centre, infrastructure, construction/EPC, real estate, energy, procurement or technology outsourcing transactions.
