Senior Librarian – Service Innovation & Space Transformation

About the role

The Nanyang Technological University Libraries are seeking a forward‑looking Librarian / Senior Assistant Manager to lead service innovation, enhance user experience, and transform library spaces. This senior role combines operational leadership with a focus on creating hybrid, collaborative environments for students, faculty, and researchers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and enhance library operations and service delivery across key user touchpoints, improving service quality, consistency, and user experience.
• Design and implement space‑transformation and user‑experience initiatives that support evolving patterns of learning, collaboration, discovery, and wellbeing.
• Drive service innovation and continuous‑improvement efforts using user feedback, operational insights, and emerging trends.
• Develop and mentor staff and student assistants to ensure operational readiness, service excellence, and effective change implementation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline; postgraduate qualification in library and information studies or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in academic, research, public, or other service‑oriented environments, including supervisory experience.
• Proven experience in operations, user‑facing services, service improvement, project leadership, or change implementation.
• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, analytical, and people‑management skills.
