Senior Manager, APAC Media and Science Communications

About the role

The Regional Media Relations and Science Communications Lead for Asia Pacific shapes and protects the company's reputation by driving proactive and reactive media engagement and turning complex science and data into clear, compelling communications for priority external and internal audiences across the region. The role partners with market communicators, Medical/Clinical/Regulatory/Legal stakeholders and global communications teams, and reports to the Executive Director, Asia Pacific and the Intercon regional lead, Corporate Affairs.

Key responsibilities

• Internal communications: partner with the regional lead on an integrated internal strategy supporting business priorities, organizational change and employee engagement, and prepare executives for town halls, leadership announcements and events
• Regional media relations: build relationships with priority regional media, plan and pitch stories around scientific milestones and leadership visibility, and manage reactive media inquiries
• Science communications: turn scientific data and research into press materials, articles, presentations and digital content, and support scientific events and conferences
• Spokesperson preparation and interview support, following established governance and coverage tracking
• Issues and crisis communications: monitor emerging issues and public sentiment, and recommend actions and messaging
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, legal and ethical standards and apply the company external engagement policy

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Business, Sciences or a related discipline
• 10+ years of experience in Corporate Affairs, brand, commercial or corporate communications
• Demonstrated business acumen and experience in life sciences, biotech or pharmaceutical industries
