Senior Marine Structural Engineer (Outfitting)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Marine Structural Engineer to lead the outfitting design of hulls and accommodation spaces. You will mentor a team of engineers, ensure compliance with class and statutory rules, and support new design concepts across shipbuilding projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor engineers in hull and accommodation outfitting design, including arrangement, calculations, procurement, detail design, bill of materials and 3D modelling.
• Prepare and review technical specifications for outfitting equipment and materials, evaluate vendor bids and oversee procurement.
• Develop and review layouts and foundation designs to meet class, owner and statutory approvals.
• Ensure compliance with fire safety, watertight integrity, lifesaving, mooring, towing, anchoring and accommodation layout requirements.
• Review and integrate designs from external consultants and equipment suppliers with in‑house engineering.
• Liaise with ship owners, surveyors and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues and keep projects on schedule.
• Monitor industry developments, classification rules and standards and apply them to design activities.

Required profile

• Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering or Structural Engineering from a recognised university.
• 7‑10 years of engineering design experience in marine/offshore/oil & gas or classification societies.
• Strong knowledge of international design codes, classification and statutory rules.
• Proven project‑management and leadership experience managing engineering teams.
• Expertise in naval architecture, structural, outfitting and accommodation design.
