Senior Pharmacist – Clinical & Operational Leader

About the role

The Senior Pharmacist will provide clinical and operational leadership to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant pharmacy services. This role combines medication safety oversight with staff mentorship to deliver high‑quality patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Lead clinical and operational pharmacy services, ensuring medication safety and regulatory compliance.
• Supervise, guide, and mentor pharmacy staff in dispensing, medication reconciliation, discharge planning, and counselling.
• Optimise pharmaceutical care through medication review, reconciliation, and evidence‑based recommendations for chronic and complex conditions.
• Deliver advanced medication counselling and education to patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals.
• Investigate and resolve medication‑related incidents, discrepancies, and supply issues, implementing corrective actions.
• Oversee inventory, procurement, and medication use processes to ensure cost‑effectiveness and minimise wastage.
• Drive quality‑assurance initiatives, including audits, data analysis, and workflow enhancements.
• Support clinical information systems, staff training, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
• Promote risk‑management practices by identifying, reporting, and mitigating risks.

Required profile

• Degree in Pharmacy and registration with the Singapore Pharmacist Board with a valid practising licence.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a hospital or healthcare setting, including clinical, operational, or leadership roles.
• Strong clinical and pharmacotherapeutic knowledge, especially for complex and chronic conditions.
• Excellent organisational, analytical, and decision‑making abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for engaging patients, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Proven supervisory, coaching, and mentoring capabilities.
• Commitment to continuous learning, professional development, and quality improvement.
