Senior Principal Research Scientist – Human Science Programme

About the role

Temasek Laboratories @ NTU is seeking a Senior Principal Research Scientist to lead the Human Science Programme. The role focuses on evaluating and developing work‑rest cycles for the Singapore Armed Forces through field trials and predictive modelling.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and lead a multidisciplinary research team, ensuring access to necessary equipment and safe study environments.
• Design, plan, execute, and manage empirical field studies, including data collection, analysis, and model development.
• Maintain compliance with Institutional Research Board standards, NTU policies, and project budgets.
• Produce high‑quality technical reports, presentations, and peer‑reviewed manuscripts.
• Mentor team members, fostering professional growth and research integrity.
• Engage with MINDEF, DSTA, and SAF stakeholders to align project outcomes with defence needs.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading scientific research projects in exercise, health, or related physiological domains.
• Strong background in heat physiology and physical work tolerance research.
• Demonstrated ability to manage research teams, budgets, and stakeholder relationships.
• Excellent scientific communication skills for publishing and presenting findings.
