Senior Procurement Manager – Photonics Platform

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Senior Procurement Manager to lead sourcing, qualification and supplier development for advanced optical materials used in its Photonics Platform and AR ecosystem. The role partners with global suppliers and cross‑functional teams in R&D, product engineering and operations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct supplier assessments, audits and qualifications for optical glass and crystalline substrates, maintaining compliance with standards and regulations.
• Develop and manage supplier scorecards, performance metrics and business reviews to drive continuous improvement.
• Implement APQP, PPAP, SPC, control plans and material‑specific quality systems, leading root‑cause analysis (8D, FMEA) and CAPA/SCAR resolution.
• Define and execute category strategies, lead RFx events, perform TCO and should‑cost analyses, and negotiate contracts, MSAs and NDAs.
• Assess and mitigate supply‑chain risks, establish dual‑sourcing strategies and support NPI through supplier qualification from prototype to volume.

Required profile

• Extensive hands‑on experience with optical glass, crystalline materials and upstream manufacturing processes.
• Proven ability to build and manage a high‑performance supplier base and lead cross‑functional projects.
• Strong track record of achieving procurement KPIs in cost, cash and contract performance.
