Senior Product Operations Specialist - APAC Payments

About the role

Wise is looking for a Senior Product Operations Specialist to join its APAC Regional Payment Operations team in Singapore. This is a hands-on, individual-contributor role where you own a meaningful part of the APAC portfolio, turning recurring customer and operational friction into scalable product change. You will work closely with Product, Engineering and Regional Operations.

Key responsibilities

• Own the direction and outcomes of an assigned part of the APAC portfolio, aligned with regional priorities and the Payments Product Operations Technical Lead.
• Identify, investigate and prioritise customer, payment-performance and operational problems, establish root causes and recommend interventions.
• Shape roadmaps and technical solutions with Product and Engineering, balancing impact, scalability, risk, effort and business value.
• Build business cases and recommendations that secure stakeholder support and investment.
• Lead complex, cross-functional initiatives end to end, from discovery and design through delivery and benefit validation.
• Design scalable workflows, tools and controls that reduce friction, manual work, cost or risk.
• Lead or support complex launches such as new markets, direct integrations and payment-system changes.
• Identify and test automation and AI opportunities with proper validation, controls and benefit measurement.
• Mentor Payments Product Operations Specialists and develop reusable approaches.

Required profile

• Demonstrated ownership of complex, ambiguous initiatives from discovery through to measurable outcomes.
• Experience working directly with Product and Engineering to shape requirements and influence roadmap decisions.
• Ability to lead cross-functional work with limited supervision and influence senior stakeholders without formal authority.
• Nice to have: experience in payments, fintech, banking or regulated financial services; experience in an analytical, Product Management, Product Operations or operational-strategy role; experience launching a new market, integration or partner capability.

Required skills

• Independent SQL from scratch, including multi-table joins, aggregations and CTEs.
• Strong critical thinking, analytical judgement and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication, able to turn complex operational and technical information into clear recommendations and business cases.
• Nice to have: hands-on experience with AI tools, familiarity with LLM APIs, agent frameworks or evaluation design.
