Senior Research Executive/Engineer

About the role

Temasek Polytechnic is seeking a Senior Research Executive/Engineer to lead applied R&D projects in Battery Management Systems, Energy Storage Systems and green power technologies. You will shape the Centre’s innovation agenda, aligning research with industry needs and national priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute R&D projects on battery systems, ESS, renewable integration, hydrogen and other sustainable energy solutions.
• Develop control, monitoring, diagnostics, optimisation and energy‑management solutions for batteries, hybrid platforms and microgrids.
• Apply digital‑twin, AI and data‑analytics techniques for predictive maintenance and intelligent decision‑making.
• Design, build, test and deploy prototypes, demonstrators and test‑beds for technology validation.
• Contribute to grant proposals, IP generation, technical publications and project reporting.
• Maintain collaborations with industry partners, government agencies, research institutes and international collaborators.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in applied research or engineering within energy storage or renewable energy domains.
• Proven track record of delivering technology‑transfer outcomes and industry impact.
• Strong communication skills for presenting results at conferences and stakeholder meetings.
