Senior Research Fellow (Laboratory)

About the role

The Institute for Digital Molecular Analytics and Science (IDMxS) at NTU is seeking a Senior Research Fellow to lead the establishment and operation of a new laboratory supporting Prof. Bazan’s research programmes. The role combines laboratory management, resource planning, and safety oversight to enable cutting‑edge molecular analytics.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the setup, commissioning and operational readiness of the new Level 7 laboratory, including space planning, equipment installation and workflow design.
• Oversee day‑to‑day laboratory operations, managing equipment, chemicals, gases and consumables in line with research priorities.
• Develop and maintain laboratory management systems such as inventory tracking, SOP frameworks and coordination with institutional services.
• Provide operational support for research projects, track timelines, assist with grant budgeting and contribute to proposal preparation.
• Coordinate procurement of equipment and consumables, engage vendors, and ensure compliance with finance and safety regulations.

Required profile

• PhD in a relevant discipline with at least eight years of post‑doctoral or research experience in a laboratory setting.
• Proven experience in laboratory setup, operations management, resource planning and implementation of SOPs.
• Ability to support research programmes, track project milestones and assist with grant reporting.
• Experience in procurement planning, vendor coordination and working with finance or procurement teams.
• Strong understanding of laboratory safety practices, risk assessments and regulatory compliance.
