Senior Robotics Software Engineer – Mobile Robot Orchestration

About the role

Intrinsic, Google’s AI robotics group, is looking for a Senior Robotics Software Engineer to lead mobile robot orchestration. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to design and implement high‑performance multi‑agent path‑finding and fleet‑level behaviours that enable hundreds to thousands of robots to operate safely in dynamic environments such as factories, warehouses, hospitals and commercial buildings.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and benchmark multi‑agent path‑finding algorithms for dense robot fleets.
• Create robust software components that allow robots to interact with doors, elevators, and workcells.
• Build reusable libraries and debugging tools that simplify traffic‑behavior analysis for customers.
• Collaborate with the Open Robotics community to define open specifications for robot interoperability.
• Evaluate challenging environments and propose strategies for seamless robot traffic management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience with autonomous mobile robots (e.g., MiR, OTTO, Geek+).
• Strong background in systems programming and distributed multi‑agent systems.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate with diverse stakeholders.
