Senior Software Engineer, App Ads, Data and Measurement

About the role

Google is looking for a senior software engineer to work on App Ads, data, and measurement systems. The role sits within Google Ads, where AI and machine learning drive a multi‑billion‑dollar global business. You will help protect users, improve ad quality, and optimize advertiser ROI at massive scale.

Key responsibilities

• Write and test product or system development code.
• Participate in or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to select technologies.
• Review code from other developers, ensuring style, accuracy, testability, and efficiency.
• Contribute to documentation and educational content, updating it based on product changes and user feedback.
• Triage product or system issues, debug, track, and resolve them while assessing impact on hardware, network, or service quality.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of software development experience in one or more programming languages.
• 3+ years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products and at least 1 year in software design and architecture.
• 3+ years of back‑end development experience.
• Preferred: 5+ years with data structures and algorithms.
• Experience in two or more areas such as large software systems, distributed/parallel systems, networking, web application development, Unix/Linux, mobile development, or security software development.
• Experience developing accessible technologies.
