Senior Software Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to lead the technical direction of our payments platform. You will work hands‑on daily, shipping production changes, and guiding a cross‑functional squad through a major service migration.

Key responsibilities

• Set technical direction for payments work and deliver code alongside the squad.
• Lead the gradual extraction of payment flows from a monolith into a well‑bounded service, spanning Java (Spring Boot) and PHP (Laravel/VueJS) codebases.
• Design, build, and maintain integrations with payment service providers and banking partners, ensuring high availability and robust reconciliation.
• Drive down payment failure rates and incident load through observability, defensive design, and post‑mortem‑driven improvements.
• Coordinate execution across the payments squad, sequencing work and unblocking teammates.
• Collaborate with crypto settlement, compliance, product, and operations teams to meet regulatory expectations.
• Champion engineering quality: clean schemas, thoughtful API contracts, automated testing, and CI/CD discipline.
• Leverage AI tools for code generation, reviews, debugging, documentation, and automation, and promote their adoption within the squad.
• Maintain clear technical documentation for payment flows, integrations, and known issues.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with strong experience in building and operating payments systems.
• Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and work collaboratively across multiple teams.
