Senior Software Engineer (Java)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with strong Java expertise to design, develop and operate in‑house and SaaS integrations that enable our business teams. The role covers the full delivery lifecycle from analysis through production deployment and ongoing support.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build secure, high‑performance, cost‑aware Java services and integrations on AWS.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions, estimates and delivery plans.
• Define technical specifications, guide junior engineers and external developers.
• Deliver end‑to‑end features, including implementation, deployment and production support.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to shape scope, priorities and assess technical feasibility.
• Improve maintainability through testing, monitoring, automation and clear documentation.
• Communicate progress, risks and trade‑offs with project teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering production‑grade back‑end systems in Java.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS cloud services and infrastructure.
• Exposure to the financial services domain or regulated environments.
• Ability to turn ambiguous problems into clear technical solutions.
• Experience partnering with business users and engineering teams.
• Ownership mindset with strong prioritisation and communication skills.
