Senior Software Engineer (Kotlin & React Preferred)

About the role

NCS, an AI tech services company and subsidiary of the Singtel Group, is hiring a Senior Software Engineer in Singapore. You will design, develop and support large-scale, business-critical software systems, owning the work from technical design through to production support.

Key responsibilities

• Translate complex requirements into scalable, resilient software and build backend services in Kotlin with a focus on performance, reliability and maintainability.
• Develop full-stack solutions using Kotlin and ReactJS where applicable, and work with PostgreSQL to design and optimise data models and queries.
• Own applications from design through testing, deployment and production support, implementing CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and deployment.
• Deploy and run applications on cloud platforms using containerisation and orchestration, and set up monitoring, observability and logging.
• Take part in incident response, troubleshooting and root cause analysis, and improve application performance and reliability.
• Evaluate technical solutions, recommend improvements to tooling and engineering practices, and ensure solutions meet security, scalability and reliability standards.
• Work with cross-functional teams and non-technical stakeholders to understand business needs and communicate technical proposals clearly.

Required profile

• Around 5 years or more of software engineering experience, preferably in complex, large-scale systems.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals across the full lifecycle, including testing, CI/CD, deployment, observability and security.
• Experience deploying and operating applications on cloud platforms, and hands-on experience with containerisation and orchestration.
• Demonstrated experience supporting applications in production, including troubleshooting and incident response.
• Strong ownership, analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
