Senior Specialist, IT Operations

About the role

NTU, a research-intensive university in Singapore, is looking for an experienced Senior Specialist (IT Operations) to join its Centre of IT Services (CITS). The incumbent oversees all IT needs for faculty, staff and researchers in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) while ensuring compliance with CITS IT policies.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee infrastructure and system operations in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering and ensure programme and department operations run smoothly.
• Introduce process improvement initiatives and new technologies that enable workflow automation.
• Manage infrastructure changes, maintenance routines, infrastructure replacement plans and the installation of infrastructure systems according to design specifications.
• Assist IT operations for Graduate Programmes, Research Centres, Academic Divisions, Alumni, Career Services and Corporate Communications, and contribute to broader CITS or university-wide initiatives.
• Manage the budget and costing for maintenance, operation and upgrading of facilities.
• Develop performance monitoring, infrastructure testing, capacity and usage reporting, and manage service level agreements, service-level objectives and client satisfaction metrics.
• Maintain and tune infrastructure hardware and software, handle infrastructure testing and implementation, and pilot new tools and processes.
• Consolidate performance and data usage statistics for capacity planning and reporting.
• Manage and maintain the school's internal CCTV system to ensure safety and security.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• At least 5 years of IT operations experience.
• Strong teamwork and leadership skills, and good oral and written communication.

Required skills

• End-user support for Windows-based desktops.
• Administration of Windows-based servers.
• Troubleshooting PC hardware issues.
• Familiarity with network and cybersecurity concepts.
