Senior Staff Nurse – Wound Care

About the role

The Senior Staff Nurse (Wound Care) at St Luke's Hospital provides direct clinical care for patients with acute and chronic wounds, ostomy and continence needs. The role combines hands‑on wound management, clinical consultation, education and service development.

Key responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive assessments of wound, vascular, skin viability, pain, nutrition and psychosocial factors, and document findings.
• Deliver advanced wound care interventions including cleansing, dressing selection, compression therapy, NPWT application, and conservative sharp debridement.
• Act as a wound‑care resource, offering internal and external consultation, education, mentorship and competency development for healthcare professionals.
• Lead clinical service improvement, quality‑improvement projects, research initiatives and administrative duties such as documentation, inventory management and reporting.
