Senior Tax Accountant

About the role

As a Senior Tax Accountant at Wesco, you will lead indirect tax compliance, audits and planning across multiple APAC entities. You will work closely with local accounting teams and provide tax advisory support to finance and business functions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review VAT/GST, withholding tax returns and certificates for 14 countries.
• Provide tax advisory support to sales, procurement, accounts payable, credit and operations teams.
• Manage tax audits, authority enquiries and investigations.
• Review, analyse and improve indirect tax controls, including employee expenses, company vehicles, import VAT reconciliations and export documentation.
• Support configuration and maintenance of indirect tax determination systems.
• Act as regional subject‑matter expert for tax‑related initiatives such as ERP implementations and e‑invoicing programs.
• Prepare and reconcile indirect tax accounts against the trial balance.
• Undertake ad‑hoc tax and finance responsibilities as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, Finance or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of tax experience in a multinational corporation or reputable tax advisory firm.
• Strong knowledge of indirect tax regulations and compliance requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and manage competing deadlines.
• Detail‑oriented, proactive with strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Team player with strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
