Senior Underwriter – Financial Lines

About the role

We are looking for a seasoned Underwriter to join Zurich Insurance’s Financial Lines team. In this senior role you will analyse and underwrite new and renewal business, work within delegated authority on complex assignments and deliver high‑level service to our broker and client partners.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and qualify renewal and new account opportunities that align with the company’s appetite.
• Conduct detailed assessments with brokers, negotiate terms, close deals and cross‑sell other lines.
• Measure exposure, analyse risk and calculate target prices using underwriting tools.
• Develop and maintain strong broker and client networks, acting as the primary contact for target accounts.
• Lead marketing presentations, sales meetings and contribute to underwriting manuals and staff training.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in insurance, finance, law or related field; professional certifications (ACII, CPCU) preferred.
• 3–7 years underwriting experience in financial lines and cyber, with a proven market reputation.
• Strong understanding of underwriting principles, risk assessment and pricing strategies.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills with ability to build relationships.
• Proficiency with underwriting tools and software, strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently under pressure and make decisions within delegated authority.
• Organisational and time‑management skills to handle multiple priorities.
• Experience in Singapore and Southeast Asian risk markets.
