Senior/Assistant Director – Technology Development & Commercialization

About the role

The Senior/Assistant Director will lead SERI’s Technology Development & Commercialization (TD&C) Office in translating research into market‑ready health solutions. The role focuses on building strategic partnerships, advancing innovation programmes, and ensuring compliant commercialization processes.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, initiate and nurture strategic partnerships with industry, healthcare institutions, technology firms, research organisations, investors and government agencies.
• Drive business development initiatives, including participation in national innovation schemes such as the Industry Alignment Fund – Industry Collaboration Projects.
• Develop business cases and partnership proposals aligned with SERI’s strategic priorities.
• Collaborate with researchers and clinicians to create technology development roadmaps and commercialization pathways.
• Coordinate IP protection, licensing activities and engagement with commercial partners.
• Support governance functions including process improvement, conflict‑of‑interest management and contract review.
• Represent SERI at industry meetings, conferences and networking events.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business development and strategic partnership formation within the health‑technology ecosystem.
• Experience working with researchers, clinicians, industry partners, investors and government agencies.
• Familiarity with intellectual property protection, licensing and commercialization processes.
• Ability to manage conflict‑of‑interest and contract review activities.
