Site Reliability Engineer

About the role

Apple’s Software Development group is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to ensure the security, stability, and performance of our iOS, macOS, and device platforms. You will bridge strategic engineering design with hands‑on automation, working across hardware, software, and manufacturing environments.

Key responsibilities

• Review hardware, software infrastructure and application functionality for optimization.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
• Manage the full system lifecycle, including configuration and code deployment to test and production environments.
• Monitor infrastructure and application services, leading incident management and resolution.
• Collaborate with production support, application engineers, project managers, systems, network, and database teams to maintain high availability and reliability.

Required profile

• 0‑5 years of Unix/Linux administration and performance tuning in large‑scale environments.
• Experience with Java/JVM runtime configuration or strong scripting skills in Python, Go, or similar languages.
• Solid understanding of DevOps culture, tools, and processes.
• Proven automation experience using Ansible, Chef, Jenkins, or Puppet.
• Knowledge of Oracle DB, networking, load balancers, firewalls, and WAF is a plus.
• Familiarity with SDLC, release engineering, and source control (SVN, GIT).
• Understanding of system and application security principles.
